2004 s80 t6 leaking coolant under car

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Post by Donte25_williams »

I saw coolant on the ground today and when I looked under the car it was leaking on the passenger side near the compressor area but seem to be comin from a little higher up I really couldn't see that good but prior to driving it wasn't overheating or anything it happened when I got out and turned the car off for about 10 mins but after I saw the leak I got in the car started it and the message show "low coolant stop engine" but my temperature gauge was still in the middle idk where the leak it ...PLEASE HELP

It could be the coolant reservoir and/or its cap. Of course, check the hoses. If you're unlucky, it's the plastic nipple on the thermostat housing that has become brittle and leaking; this is a bear to get to and replace, so let's hope it is something simpler. Good luck and keep us posted.

DO NOT drive it until repair is made. As previous responder said, could be the nipple, repair is in the database, look in XC90 T-6 section. Let us know what you find
Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

Thanks for the reply I took it to a Volvo specialist they said it was a crack in the intake manifold and it's costing a grip to repair
