99 V70XC PCV quick question

Post by PatternFlyer »

I have a quick question to ask.
Just got the cheap PCV kit from IPDUSA. Part number 124569
It came with

5 black O-rings
4 washers with black plastic on inner edge
1 green O-ring

What are these for? Where do they go?

Should I use some kind of adhesive with the gasket?

Any idea?

I am trying to work on the car starting this evening.
Thanks,

I just did the 98 version and the hose is completely different. My guess is:
green washer - dipstick
4 washers - for banjo bolts
5 orings - fuel injectors.
My guess is you'll recognize them and figure out how they go as you disassemble.

Yes. Actually the dipstick tube where it enters the engine.

No adhesive on the intake manifold gasket

The metal can connector from the oil trap to the block may be different than the one on your car. I put mine rubber side against the oil trap, some did it the other way. My way is faster.

Getting the banjo bolt under the manifold aligned and in is tough work.

That may be the biggest understatement I have read in a while. :D

Being old and feeble I've found removing the radiator fan opens up the underside of the manifold nicely.

So farn i pulled the entire fan assembly after getting the tube that hooked up to the ETM.
got the air box out, but the tube netweek the turbo & airbox has a few hoses that are hard to take out.

does vadis show entire process including the long hose assembly from the front to the back?

not easy even after I did the PCV a few years ago. Can't remember how I did.

98 actually are not the same as 99. Vadis shows 99 as 98, so i am looking at it as 2000.

turbo control valve hoses will be replaces also.

hope I can finish today.
