98 v70 AC relay not receiving power

Post by wuttheheeck »

Hey guys. 98 v70 awd 2.4 Im having issues with my AC system. I first thought it was the relay, after replacing it, i'm not having any luck. When I use a jumper the ac compressor clutch engages and blows cold. What would be the cause of no signal activating the relay?

Thanks
R

Are you hot wiring directly to the compressor or jumpering the relay itself. If it works when you jumper the relay then it could be a bad controller. Is fuse 5 OK? Is there battery on the red wire at pin 1 of the relay?

Hey Lee thanks for the reply. all the fuses look intact that have to do with AC and temp control. I used a piece of wire and jumped the connections. An audible sound was heard as the compressor clutch engaged. I'm wondering if I have a leak in the system and a low pressure signal is stopping the compressor. Might get it looked at by a shop, seems over my head. Although the summer heat has ended, It is sure nice to have dry defrosting air when there's a fresh foot of snow on my car :D
