1998 V70 T5M 3rd Row Seat Anchor?

Post by Seaway »

My car has a swapped in R interior (from the previous owner) but it is missing the "anchor point" for the 3rd row seat. It has the arm that flips up from the hatch cover, but there is no hole on the back of the seat to accept the arm. I can feel a hole behind the carpet on the backseat, so I need the part number of the "anchor point." I have looked everywhere, but I have not had any luck. Any suggestions?

I seem to remember a thread where the hole is there, and you just have to cut the carpet to receive it - the plastic part is just trim?

Can't help with the part numbers, but there are 2 types of anchor that mount to the rear seat back rest, a long one (about 4-5" long) and a shortie, about an inch long. Which one do you need?

It is the long "arm" from the floor cover/3rd row seat back and that part is present, it is just the receiver part on the back of the back seat that is missing. If the plastic surround is just a trim piece and I can simply slit the carpet and make it work, I will just do that.

Pretty sure there's a little catch inside the seat.
I never thought of cutting a slot and see if that works. However, I must say I never really looked at the plastic slot piece to see if the plastic itself is the catch!
This is not a part that's available anymore and you can't even buy a used one as once it's in, it's in, and to remove it, you have to break the plastic!!

Well that figures! No way to get the plastic piece out, huh? Can just the seat back be swapped with a seat back that has the plastic receiver? Or should I just bag the whole thing?

I am assuming you have already looked at this drawing, but just in case you didn't find it:

Do you see the part there?

He needs 12 and possibly 13 and as you can see they never could be bought as they came with the seat kit
