1998 Volvo T5 Electric Exhaust cutouts?

1998 Volvo T5 Electric Exhaust cutouts?
I see a 2.5" DC electric exhaust cut out on the Summit site. I assume I could put this just before the muffler mid car?I also assume it would throw a code for the 02 sensors if I put it before tha cat? My state of Missouri does not do emissions tests. Anybody else tried one. The reviews on this electric one were super good for operation and sealing. They give you a toggle switch to open it as little or much as you want. Bob
