97 GLT/T5 ECU FLASH no a/c

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

97 GLT/T5 ECU FLASH no a/c

Post by 1ezliving4ume »

Ok, I've kinda made a mess out of my car. I just recently reworked the head gasket and rebuilt a 15g turbo. While I was in there I decided to install the white injectors, a TCU and a CBV from IPD. I used the blue spring in the CBV. All new vacuum lines, radiator etc. My plan was to use a 4.4 ECU out of the 1998 T5 car.

The ECU problem, Come to fine'd out my 97 GLT already had a 4.4 in it BUT the a/c controller is a 4.3 so this ECU works like it should except I'm dumping all my boost out of the waste gate. The ECU I got from the T5 has the power that I want, its a 4.4 and the a/c is a 4.4. So, when I run the T5 ECU the a/c will not work.

So I'm stuck in the middle between A/C and no power or power and no A/C. What I need is:
A. take the T5 ECU and flash the 4.3 a/c controller on it
B. Take the GLT ECU and flash the T5 tune on it.

I would really like to flash the A/C onto the T5 ECU but I haven't a clue and the reading I've done isn't helping.

I'm partly to blame for this mess ... did you get the A/C sorted out yet? I know the online instructions have a steep learning curve plus you need the right hardware, it is a hassle to get going. I can flash on the A/C for you no charge, would split shipping with you, let me know. PM me here unless you still have my email from before.

You can change the M4.4 ECU to use the M4.3 a/c.
