I did the glove test the other day as I have oil leaking from somewhere around the oil squirters or above. The glove half filled so I checked the hoses and found the thin plastic pipe broken, fixed that and did the test again..glove didn't fill but didn't get sucked in either. unplugged the thin plastic pipe and the glove filled like a balloon also squeezed the larger hose and that same happened, so I guess its not blocked??

I did have the hoses switched on top of the oil trap. After I switched them the glove still blew up for some reason until it ran for 5 minuets. After that the glove just sits over the hole, no sucking in or blowing up so I am happy with that. The oil dip stick still smokes a little but as I read in the attached info above I could fix that with 5/8 heater hose. My car still blows some smoke at times out the exhaust. I was hoping this PCV blockage was causing it but guess not.

I had an engine replaced on my 98 v70 t5, when I rang my dealer to ask how much to rebuilt an engine he put the phone down and I could hear him laughing and saying to someone 'Daryl's v70 just blew up' . he came back on the line and said "yep Volvo engines do that, they don't last long"
