I was accelerating under WOT on an onramp to a freeway far from home and around 4000rpms and the car just took an absolute dump on me. Large pop, blinking check engine light, orange transmission up arrow, downshifts while i was coming to a stop were janky and horrendous as if the engine and the transmission had blown simultaneously. Car threw a list of codes, misfires all cylinders, transmission codes and a pending for engine running too lean. Car died when I came to a stop and would die within seconds of retrying it.

If it wasn't for reading the threads that come up here on a daily basis I wouldn't have even thought to have checked for induction leaks. I was absolutely on my way to calling for a tow. Turns out I had popped the lower hose off the Idle Air Control Valve causing a massive induction/vacuum leak. Guess I didn't tighten the hose down well enough when i replaced it last month.

Got that back together with the help of the girlfriend, she held the flashlight as it was 11pm at night and cleared the ECU and voila she's back to running silky smooth. Thanks!

Yeah,

Happened to me too. That hose to ICV came off, car stalled.
Best is to use a screw-type clamp around ICV hose connections.
