1999 Volvo S70 Door Handle

I replaced my passenger door latch this weekend, after it breaking and not allowing the door to stay shut. That is always fun when your 11 year old son gets to hold the door shut while driving home! I got a used latch at my local junk yard that worked just fine with the outside door handle from the junk S70. The install went well, except that the outside door handle doesn't open the door. I can see it activating the latch lever, but it won't release the door. The installed used latch will open just fine from the inside handle, and the electric lock works great too. Just nothing at the outside handle. I have adjusted the part that goes into the outside handle pull piece (the part of the latch that has the phillips screw driver adjuster) Anyone had this happen to them? Any advice? Thanks.

It could be your door latch is not correctly installed into the door lock actuator. Here is a picture of the actuator attach point for the latch.

The exterior handle has to engage in that spot.
