The other day a small but significant part broke on one of my battery terminals due to corrosion. I could make a instant but rather temporarily fix. My question is, if somebody knows if there is a place where they could offer such a small part, so i could keep the existing terminal?
The terminal which is still ok.

The bottom part which broke. It has a special shape to create the pressure on the terminal post.

You can still get the replacement terminal from Volvo. There were two different styles. Show them the picture at FCP and they will get you the right one.

Why not just replace the terminals?

Otherwise you pull it yard, probably would let you have that little part for the price of admission.

Ran into a similar issue last month. Volvo dealership would only sell entire batter cable, not just terminals that could be spliced in. Unfortunately didn't have the $90.00 that week to buy it.

Bought a new terminal from AutoZone, and installed it. Because it doesn't drop down to a nice 90 degrees like the Volvo ones, it wouldn't quite reach the terminal. Had to rotate the battery 180 degrees, and reroute the battery cable in question.

Worked great. Looks heinous. Definitely going to replace it when I can.

We talked about similar issue in BMW E39 forum, you can see the VW part in the thread below:
I wonder if the VW fits the Volvo...

See my battery photo (I use Exide L3, which is $90 at Menards, Home Depot etc.).
The Volvo design is that: the bolt goes down and in the process of doing that the bottom metal piece is pulled upward ---> squeezing the terminal.

The VW design is similar but with a nut instead of a bolt. I wonder if the VW design fits the Volvo.

PS: I wonder if you can drill the horizontal holes and use generic nuts/bolts...

Or junk yard part...
