You could get a whole rebuilt starter for around $100-120
Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.
Disclaimer: We (very) seldom do that

I was thinking about getting a whole unit instead, but I'm just trying to save some money... lost my job the other week and I'm trying to keep expenses low.
