99 S70 T5 AT, is it stock or tuned? (video inside)

Post by RigsPGT »

Hi guys,
I've been wanting to find out either my 99 T5 was stock or tuned and the reason asking is that since the purchase with a no start issue, the car came with a BSR badge, a gas valve MBC and a muffler delete. The guy who bought it from the financial institution (not the real owner) in hopes of getting the car back in the road, failed to do further tests and gave up and put it up for sale.
So here I am thinking about boost pressure might tell me a thing or two, I quickly installed a boost gauge I had laying around and went for a run. (thank you Volvo for leaving an empty access plug right above the heater core lines)
The car has new KN filter, new OEM spark plugs, fresh synthetic oil with a Mahle cartridge and a pesky P0442 CEL :) also a slow primary O2 which i'm replacing it as soon as it arrives from FCP.
Judging from the videos I'm about to include, is this stock boost behavior or this is at least Stage 1 BSR?
By the way, when I first got the car I found a dyno sheet in the glove box which I'm also uploading here but really don't trust it much as the numbers are a little high (butt dyno confirmed + not enough mods to support it)

Doesn't seem like 300+ at the wheels to me.

Nah, I know 300 is way too far for this car, I just wanted to know if indeed the car has a tune or not. Its holding at 12psi according to the gauge, is this stock T5 territory? I heard some people saying T5s are set at 10psi, some say 12psi and never found a real answer. I also had the MBC removed knowing 99s ECM will automatically adjust boost, do you think maybe at some point this car had a reflash but was returned back to stock by the real owner?

Does a stock ECU allow boost manipulation via MBC on ME7?
I was playing with the MBC slowly closing the valve and did see a 15+psi so I backed it off to 11-12psi range where I've been running it.
So yeah, can anyone confirm if 99's can be turned up with a knob just like the 4.4's?
