2002 v40 Upper Engine Mount Passenger Side

Post by robertg »

Hello all,

I'm having an issue trying to remove the upper passenger side engine mount. I've removed the bolts but the thing won't move out. The mount is connected to the bracket from underneath so it seems that I have to take out both together. Does anybody have any ideas how to get this out? Am I missing a bolt I don't see?

The weight of the engine is probably putting just enough pressure on the bolt to prevent removal. Just put a jack under the oil pan supporting the oil pan with a piece of wood and lift ever so slightly and you will be fine. Keep the engine supported until you have got the new one back on.

I seem to remember having to lower the engine, as mentioned, to remove that mount.
And I would have done it just as pierremclpine suggested.
