Hey,
Last winter I noticed that on extremely cold days, 10 Degrees F, the heat in my car wouldn't work for about 15 min. It seemed as though the ECC wasn't getting power. The little lights for A/C and cabin circulation were off during this time. There were no sounds coming from the blower, and aside from the lack of air there were no issues. Once the car was warm and the air had come on, the heat seemed normal.
I didn't drive my car much then so I lived with it. I now commute daily ( ~20 min) and have noticed that this issue has returned with the cold weather. Any Ideas?
I used to think the blower had a small amount of condensation in it which would freeze during the weather. But I don't think that would effect power going to the ECC. Thanks.

I would pull out the HVAC control head out of the dash and clean the male and female connectors with electrical contact cleaner. Could you confirm that after driving for several minutes the lights on the control head magically light up and then your HVAC a system works properly.
Well I doubt its magical, but yes after the car warms up then the system is working properly. This is only in colder weather, typically if there is frost out then it will occur. Good idea about cleaning the contacts. I'll grab a bottle of parts cleaner and do that after work.Could you confirm that after driving for several minutes the lights on the control head magically light up and then your HVAC a system works properly.
Sorry for never updating, I ended up cleaning all of the contacts of the ECC with MAF cleaner. There have been a few cold days and the blower has started every time. So it must have just been a poor connection when it got fairly cold out.
