thanks but for performance i may not ever know the difference. i just the car and i have put about 50 miles on it before i did the work, and now it goes on the lift for winter storage. maybe next year in may i will see if i can tell or if it throws the code. if so i will post that and do the alignment again. for now it is running.

ok here is the scoop again thanks lee for the great help and the others also had good advice. i took it out today and i did not notice any performance issues, but like i said i have not driven it much. but it had plenty of pickup. and the mileage going 70 mph was at 25.6 mpg. so if the exhaust timing was off far that may not have been at that point. and so far no codes showing. as one adviser mentioned it may still throw out a code for this job as it is driven, but i will not know until next year unless it does next week i may drive it to work one day next week if the weather is good or next year. thanks for the help.

ok took it out today for a short drive and i noticed what seems like a engine vibration. i can't say if i noticed this before i did the timing belt. but after i did. i did not say anything just after as i figured it may be something else but i looked for damage or parts caught in the engine and frame. nothing. so am i now just noticing this because i'm looking for a problem after changing the belts? and being a 5 cylinder might that be what i feel? to be honest i can't remember before i did the timing belt if it had that. i may not have been paying attention much i guess as it was still new to me and any of that i may have just figured was the cars normal feeling. but now i feel it. so what say you. did i miss something and have to go back and make adjustments? thanks

You are likely just sensitized to any slight anomaly. I do the same thing for about a month after a belt change.

It is easy enough to pop the cover off of the timing belt cover and double check the tensioner indicator to make sure it is still in the window. Chances are everything is OK but it would show up on the tensioner first if anything was off.
