88 765 wagon rear abs sensor

My 88 765 wagon has a small electrical box in line on the abs sensor wire as the wire routes forward. The Volvo 1363558 sensor for the car does not show this box. Does anyone know anything.

There's an ABS speed converter under the dash. The speedometer gets it signal from this ABS converter.

That may be...but this small 3X3.5inch black box is forward of the radio antenna motor, the abs sensor line runs into the box and out then onward toward the left side of the back seat. The Volvo 1363558 sensor does not have this box on its wire. I was hoping a new rear sensor would fix my ABS light. Now I am totally perplexed. Any advice appreciated.

Then I need to look at my car to see if it has one of these. Have you considered disabling the ABS?

The box is only a seal to make disconnect evident purusuant to laws in some countries. The box latch is destroyed opening it and can't be re-used. Replacements are a different color (If there ever has been one ever purchased...).

Thank you Jimmy...Turbo Bricks tells me if my Speedo and my ODO are working that my rear sensor is working. Today, I changed the fuse at the fuse box (#22) and the fuse on the ABS relay under the dash. Both looked great, new ones changed nothing. I wonder about the relays under the cover of the ABS pump under the hood. We will check the front sensors soon and see if they show the proper electricity.
