'04 v70 blower fan to early?

Now that it is getting cooler, I thought I remembered my blower fan coming on after the engine warmed up slightly. Set on AUTO. fan speed lights about 3 lit (should any be lite w/ AUTO function on?) no a/c on,,, no defrost on,,, and it just blast cool air from the start. Maybe that's the way it has always been?

IF you touch the fan knob it over-rides the AUTO settings - maybe try turning the fan all the way down and seeing if it then controls it as before?

I don't think it is supposed to come on in heat mode until the coolant is warmed - pretty sure my 2005 works this way - SWMBO stole it for work this morning.

On auto mode, there have slightly blowing. It's as first step setting. When cooler warmup. The blowing start up higher.
