Is there supposed to be a seal between the wheel bearing and the outside CV joint?
I am replacing the driver side CV axle on a friends 2001 S80. I can see that there is a seal between the outside CV joint and the wheel bearing hub assembly on the passenger side but there is not one on the driver side. Is there supposed to be one on the driver side too? I am looking for diagrams on this but have not found one yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Prev. owner forgot to put it back I'd guess. It's the black piece at $4.49 in the Xheart diagram
