97 v70 2,4t need some help fixing the vacuum hoses and boost issues

Hi, this is my first post here.

I just aquirred an 97 v70 2.4t, and with it a fair list of problems.

The car has run 360k km,with topp and belt overhauled at 280km. Car passed MoT test 2 months ago, and from the receipts it seems the car was thourogly checked and repaired except for the abs unit.

Then it got a new owner that decided that dumpvalves and changing to a R ecu was a good idea, so now the CEL is on and the car stutters when it reaches about 3,k rpm, feels like when someone fails using the clutch. See the attached pictures. The rear springs has also been cut from what i can see, as the rims are barely clearing the wheelarch.

Now the issues, if someone can look at these photos and give me some pointers in reversing the turbohoses to a working condition. Fropm the hose going to the intakemanifold, i can hear the air hissing trough it, but it doesnt apear to leak, as the sound is the samen all over. Hopefully i will get my hands on an obd scanner in the next few days to start reading out the failcodes.

#1. Verify you have all the hard pipes.

#2. Locate a set of stock hoses or stock replacement hoses and replace all of the hoses.

#3 after you have #1 and #2 done, then work on the vacuum lines.

Are you wanting to return the system to stock?

It doesnt have to be completly stock, but from past experience in trying to fix something that has not been done according to factory schematics and looks alot like homemade solutions, reverting it step by step, has usaly worked. But im open for other solutions that might fix and simplify things.

One thing im pretty sure about, is that the dumpvalve is causing alot of the problem.

Thanks Tryingbe, the hoselist and schematics helps alot, going to have a check on whats left of the original stuff abit later today, as its 37 farenheit outside pouring down with rain and windy, it might even be tomorrow.

The Mass Air Flow system does not like venting its metered air to the atmosphere for sure. If there is still a CBV on the turbo, I'd try to undo the vacuum hose at the dump valve and put it on the CBV on top of the turbo to see if the idle goes away.

Bingo, it seems like it has both a dump and cbv, stopped raining for 30 mins so i got a quick peak, the bolts on the cbv hasnt been touched for a loong long time, so im almost sure its still in there, and two things trying to dump air, that is just bound to make problems. Removing it and getting a new hose.

Think i got thje routing figured out now, the hose from the inntake, right near the dynamo, goes to the airfilter tube, while the one on top of the dumpvalve is set ontop of the cbv. and then the system would be back to stock configuration again.

It is properly messed up allright, im in Førde, so its abit to far, thanks for the offer tough, but just swapping out the bandaided hoses and removing the dumpvalve will do alot.

True. Ideally, go for a kit of new hoses from do88 or Samco - they've always been the first stop for fixing things on my Volvos. Kollevold.no (the rally guy) has a lot of Samco stuff, and BCB.no has a lot of do88 stuff - both the same, essentially, and they can probably help you with a set that will fit nicely. The bcb.no site is a nightmare to navigate, but they're fast and have OK prices.

I think you're on the right track - I've always been told that these engines don't like dumpvalves...which makes sense for a recirculation system.
