Really simple power antenna question

Really simple power antenna question

Hi I'm new to the forum and thank you very much for reading. This is for an S70. What is this (circled in yellow) and can I replace just this part/relay whatever it is? Thanks!

What is wrong with radio antenna?
You can replace it if you find one at junk yard.

Just that relay or whatever it is that I've circled in yellow in the pic. The mast is fine, and the motor runs when I put 12v to it (after this relay).

So I was hoping to replace just that part? Can't find anything referencing just that. I will replace it with a used or junk part if I can't find this.

Actually to be practical, I lowered my antenna so it is retracted, then d/c the electrical connector so it is always retracted.
AM, FM reception is good in the city.

The part is the control relay for the antenna - if you can find just that part, then swapping it shouldn't be a problem, but Volvo seems to feel that it's one single assembly. A junk yard is probably your cheapest bet, but there's quite a few of the assemblies on eBay, relatively cheap. :)

Are you sure the relay has a problem?
Have you checked the two power feeds to it?
One is constant and one is the trigger from the radio.
'98 V70 R - Well Equipped for Life Up North... ;)

BEJinFBk, I did not check the actual feeds, I tested this with the ass'y removed from the car. I put 12v on each side of the relay and motor only ran after the relay. I will check that. Thanks everyone for the replies on this. At this point it's still sitting on my workbench. I put in a few inquiries to the local yards, but no luck. If it's not one of the two power feeds, prob will buy an entire used ass'y, but I prefer the Volvo OE. Thanks again!
