Thanks Robert. I hadn't watched your head video for awhile so I was going from memory. Thank you for correcting me. What would you suggest I use to get the rest of the old gasket stuff off the block and and the cam cover? I got all but the discolored stuff from around the cylinder holes. Do you usually get your block super clean all along the mating surface.

Thanks, Shannon

I just had my head milled and was told to get a shim. Head was warped 0.028" milled 30 off it. Said to get a 0.020 shim which I cant seem to find.
He also didnt have the specs in his books to say if 30 was allowable with tolerances. Shorter head equals higher compression which needs more octane to run the same.

I've only had heads done a few times but the discussion comes up of what if it
is warped and they have to take a lot off. Do you get them another head or do
you go with a "thick" head gasket:

I think they might have mentioned a shim don't remember for sure.

I think they should have called you to ask if you wanted to look for another head,
not sure if I'd want to trust a shim on a turbo with all the stress.
