Really? I'm underwhelmed by Volvo factory navigation.
What I use in my 2008 S60 2.5T is a Nexus smartphone in a Mountek nGroove Grip Universal mount,
for accurate Google Maps turn-by-turn directions.

Hope that helps,

I had a 2004 V70 R, and I thought the factory nav was, to be polite and concise, awful.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

IF your car was originally pre-wired (has the Melbus cable) then the install is not too bad.
However, unless you have got all the parts for free, it's just plain not worth it as this is a pretty lousy system to begin with!

Pretty sure if you get used navigation system you end up with maps that are out of date.
Costs money to get updated maps.

Map DVDs I see for 10-20 dollars on CL every so often.

IMHO maps are not the problem.

Are there instructions on how to do this?

Motivation:

If one can buy the device after and install.... You have a world of possibilities.

If you think the systems sucks... I didn't ask that part. :P

You'll get more attention if you start a new topic for this.

And my $.02: how could the stock navigation be worse than it is? ;-)
