95 Volvo 850 GLT transmission fluid change/service

I'm back again people... I just changed out the CV axle on the passenger side and no tranny fluid leaked out... I was wondering if I should be worried... As for fluid what type should I use/how much? And possibly a link to a step by step?

It usually leaks some after the axle gets yanked, but not a ton. There are several methods of changing the fluid. The one I usually don't recommend is a full flush with a power flush unit but there is a procedure for a modified flush in the repair database and IPD has a hose kit to make it easy. You can make up your own hoses as well, there really isn't anything special about them.

The other method is the drain and fill method but it gets stretched over a matter of weeks typically. Just drain all of the fluid and refill the transmission. Drive it a hundred miles or so and repeat.

It takes 3 or 4 sessions to get the fluid looking pretty good.

Check your ATF dip stick?
It's yellow, check it on level ground with car idling in park or neutral, preferably warm/hot.
ATF Dexon III, you fill it via the dip stick tube. The fill to full mark on the dip stick represent about 1/2 a qt.
