Petrol or diesel?

Hi all, looking to get a new v70, have had petrol mainly but also diesel merc & work van, I'm looking at a 2002 2.4t petrol & have as a possible, a 2004 diesel, but its a bit more money. What are the service jobs on a diesel? I've recently done the pcv on my 97 2.5t , are there similar things on a diesel?
