This is a key bit of information; no way this is a $2k problem! Nor is it likely to escalate rapidly. Try the stop leak (I also like AT-205), keep an eye on the fluid level, wash the underside at the car wash every few weeks if you want to keep it clean.

Just to clarify for the OP, AT-205 is strictly a seal softener--not a stop leak additive that might have material in it that could gum up a trans, engine, or power steering.
