XeModex can do it.

Also doublebug here on the forum. You'll need a Dice tool and internet connection. He's done about 80 ETMs for me and it's possible regardless of buying the wrong part number )which is what you've done)

I called the company and they verified that the throttle body is not going to work for my car, neither can they reload the software.

Who is "the company" Did you call XeModex or where you bought it from? XeModex usually only provide a full service so n it doesn't surprise me at all. They COULD do it but are not willing because you could be sending them a used FAULTY throttle and then want a refund for the programming when programming it is a waste. I know all about this because people have done the same to me.

The throttle will work IF IT'S NOT FAULTY AND WITH CORRECT FIRMWARE. I have programmed this part number for ALL Volvo variants. Just because one company can't do it, doesn't mean it can't be done by others. The circuit board is identical regardless of the part number. The firmware file is easy to reload.

If you have a Dice and laptop with Dice drivers or can borrow one, MVS member "doublebug" can load correct software based on your Vin. Perhaps one of the MVS members from your area can volunteer their setup for an afternoon.

You could send it to me however I'm in Australia and the cost of express return postage from here is ridiculous like $95.00

Tony from XeModex told me it can't be done, because my car had a different firmware for only one year. I have a faulty OEM white label throttle body and a XeModex yellow label. I don't know

If you want this problem fixed for under $100USD have a loan of a Dice and laptop and be done with it or go and spend another $500 on an XeModex or buy a 36050563 and get the car towed to a dealer for programming.

PM doublebug and ask him if he is willing to program it for you first :) It's your call.

From the firmware levels you've published from the dealer I can see you have a 5 speed auto non turbo.

Exactly the same ETM firmware level that my own ETM test vehicle uses. Doublebug and I have written this ETM firmware (30785866 and 9471552) hundreds of times to ALL ETM part numbers.

As I stated you need a Dice tool and a laptop (preferably with Skype) and an internet connection.

You can loan one from.an MVS member or buy a Vida/Dice from a reputable seller.

Alternatively post up a wanted ad here on MVS for help. Someone in your area I'm sure would be willing to help out. There are hundreds of Volvo fanatics with a working Dice/laptop scattered over the USA. You could also post up an ad on other Volvo forums if unsuccessful.
