Seems you have the classic "guess and swap" method of auto repair going on. It just seems odd that so many parts would all be failing simultaneously. Seeing as the car is 24 years old, I would look closely at wiring connections and for chaffed wiring. The ignition switch itself could be suspect, along with fuel pump and starter relays

Thank you Erikv11, I did a little more research and ended up getting the pump from Rock auto for $60 on a close out.
The only thing I had to modify was the wires in the pump holder. The new pump came with wire terminals and a plug to match the pump.
Did the job inside of an hour and it worked fine. Definitely want to solder the new wire terminals to the wires and be sure to get the polarity right.

I do not guess and swap, I learned better a long time ago. It is the intermittent issues that generally cause this for me.RussB wrote:Seems you have the classic "guess and swap" method of auto repair going on. I only replaced the cam and crank sensors because there were codes thrown for them.
Replaced the battery because the parts house tested it and it failed.
If I did not hear the fuel pump running while I was looking at the car I would have replaced it first and likely not gone any further.
If she plans on keeping the car she will have to do the PCV soon as there is smoke coming from both the oil cap and dip stick at the same time.
This is a car I would have never recommended her buy and am annoyed she did as she doesn't know how to work on it.
The car has issues and a week after she bought I personally threw $250 at drive axles and ball joints so I knew she could make it to Atlanta with the kids.
Now after she bought it for $900 from her teacher the car has cost $250+$160+$160+$60=$630 with a grand total of $1530 to date and still needs PCV repair and a few other things which I really do not want to do.
