2005 XC90 Hit in rear won't run

Post by goldmandan »

I have a 05 XC90 that was hit in the rear right and now it won't start..... any ideas? Do these have a fuel shut off switch like Ford had?? If so, where is it located?

Thanks
Dan

Photo of the damage?

- Maybe the PEM is hit, search forum for the PEM module (sitting in front of the RR wheel, covered by the wheel well liner).

I am thinking about buying this XC90 and it is not running. It will crank but not run. YES, it was hit in the rear right. That PEM might be the culprit? That controls the fuel pump I think so if i'm not hearing a fuel pump prime, the PEM may be bad?

UPDATE:
I spoke with the gentleman selling it and he says it was running after the accident (Which was in 2013) and they went to get the car detailed and after that it never ran again..... any thoughts?? I haven't seen the engine compartment but if it was power washed, what could have gotten damaged to the point of not running?

is it cranking and not starting, or not cranking at all? if its cranking and not starting, check for fuel and spark, if its not cranking then check for power to the starter.
