Volvo 850/70 Truths

The seats comment is an absolute truth. I've driven long miles in a few different cars, and my back never aches in the 850.

What can I add?

- The panels will rattle
- It feels like a tank (in a good way)
- The a/c will fail
- The relationship is love-hate.

....uhhh more crap i can't think of

why not jump in with my thoughts..... a few really senseless things, the air pump will fill with water due to a poor design, the evaporator will fail and replacement is a nightmare(and $1000-2000), the shift lock button making the key stick is a "dumb" design, the PCV system, which was already mentioned by someone else, will clog and require a way over complicated repair, the roof rail design is lovely that when the car is wet it pours all over you as you get in, codes codes codes( buy a scanner!), abs/tracs unit always fails, but other than these and a few more quirks I am very impressed that my car has 200KMI and still runs perfect and doesnt use a drop of oil, and yes I do believe they are very classy looking cars and quite comfortable.

My VWs are the same way

Invest in specialty sockets and 1/4" magnetic screwdriver/drill tips.

I like torx.. I haven't stripped out a screw head on a car in years.

oh yes, having owned 2 850's and one s70, i'll add the front suspenion will die and the roof rails will have to be painted every two years..........
and the check engine light will never, ever, ever stay off for more than 1 month.
