Volvo Engine Mount Kits

As your engine runs, it vibrates, yet your engine mounts are designed to handle that vibration while securing your engine in your car. Over time, your engine mounts deteriorate resulting in extra engine noise and a less enjoyable driving experience, and thus must be replaced. Rest assured, replacing engine mounts are fairly easy and can be performed by even the the most beginner leveled do it yourself-er with basic hand tools.

Since all Volvo engine mounts are known to commonly fail, we've assembled these kits so you can refresh all of the mounts at once. Not only are these conveniently assembled in house for you, but by replacing all of the mounts at once will ensure your peace of mind. We found that previous customers who replace just one of their many engine mounts soon had to replace the others shortly there after due to added stress on the remaining original mounts.

Common Fault Symptoms

I'm not experienced in car repair. This practice is kind of new to me...that the manufacturer of parts is kept shrouded. When I go to the FCP site and the kits say "Genuine Volvo" . Since Volvo doesn't make parts obviously they aren't the manufacturer.

I don't get it...but I take it this is normal? How does a home mechanic buy the same parts based on the manufacturer name and not the secondary Volvo branding?

Genuine Volvo means the same part and packaging with the little blue Volvo label that you would get if you walked into any Volvo dealer amd ordered the parts. FCP order these parts directly from Volvo. They are not copies or fakes.

Usually a manufacturer such as Lemfoerder or Hutchinson produce the parts for Volvo and they are repackaged in Volvo genuine packaging by Volvo. The Lemfoerder or Hutchinson branded kits are accordingly priced as aftermarket OEM parts.

Then there are the "others" such as URO, Scantech, and a dozen others who claim to make great parts yet their quality seems to be pot luck.

There are many OEM manufacturers for Volvo. Lots of threads here on MVS discussing who the manufacturers are.

Hi Mike
I must not be writing clearly. I'm sorry for that! No, I don't think they are fakes. That's not my issue at all.

If Lemforder makes the mount that Volvo uses and calls "Genuine Volvo" doesn't Lemforder have a part number? How do I get the Lemborder part number > to search for it and subvert the Volvo branding premium price?

I am trying to tap into the power of people knowing and sharing. 20 years ago I as a home mechanic probably had no way of finding out who the manufacturer of something was - even though that might be easily found out by people who work in a Volvo shop.

Another example:
Continental is (evidently) the OEM for the Volvo belts - same belt, different markings. You buy it as "Volvo" you pay extra than if you find THE SAME BELT in a Continental box.

I am hoping to buy a Lemforder mount, either from FCP or from another parts house. I want the Lemforder mount, which is what is in the Blue box, but without that Volvo price.

If the FCP ad states it's a Lemfoerder then that is what you are getting. In most cases OEM part numbers apply to aftermarket so just search for OEM numbers and you'll hit dozens of matches, some Lemfoerder and some not.

It would be a waste of time for Lemfoerder to apply their own part number as people wouldn't find their parts. Having said that you might want to do a web search for their respective websites and see if I'm wrong.

An example of a manufacturer NOT doing this is Dorman and Beck Arnley who have websites stating their own part numbers against OEM ones. Dorman and Beck Arnley don't produce anything for Volvo directly to my knowledge. They are more of a parts gatherer with a leaning to slightly higher quality though not up to par with OEM in most cases.

URO for example use only OEM part numbers and don't have their own.

If you want a Lemfoerder mount search for the OEM part number on FCPs site (use the part numbers in the kit as references, yes I know this is tedious!!) and the Lemfoerder part should come up.

If you don't know the OEM number you should get a copy of Vida so you can run it on your PC and look up OEM part numbers. Then search "OEM number Hutchinson" or "OEM number Lemfoerder" on the Web or on FCP :) .
