Correct MAF for 1999 v70-XC Turbo

Post by Ringo »

Hi All
New Volvo owner and I'm trying to troubleshoot bad ETS light. I wanted to check on and clean my MAF and when I pulled it out and checked the part number it seem like it's different than what FCPEUro specifies for my year/model so I wanted to double check with you folks. There is a chance that the previous owner put in the wrong MAF...I have a 1999 v70-XC Turbo

I have the Bosch 0280218045 (Like I said, I don't know for SURE that is the correct part for this car).
FCP tells me I should have the 0280218108

Is this a question of a new part number for the exact same thing? Is the MAF (last 3 digits) 108 the same as the MAF 045?

thanks,
Steve

ETS light does not come on for a bad MAF
You probably need a new/rebuilt ETM (throttle)

Thanks guys. Yes, I've done reading here and I'm sure that I need to replace the ETM. In preparation I just wanted to clean the MAF and noticed the existing part number was different from what was being spec'd currently. I just wanted to rule out that the previous owner's non-Volvo experienced mechanic had installed the right part.

thanks again

Doesn't hurt to think about that, but once the ets light comes on that's your confirmation.

The older Bosch catalogues used to cross reference the 045s afew years ago. I think it also suits the Bosch ETA cars from 2002 plus though officially they use the 088s

These days the catalogue has been updated. :)

I am not gettting any codes. Is that also "normal" that the ETS light comes on and comes back but gives no codes?

If you read with the right scanner there will be codes. If driving performance is normal and you haven't lost cruise control you probably have a six month window until it implodes.
