Does anyone have any experience with this system, how it works, how to turn it on/off, how to program it, does it need to be programmed.
Thanks in advance

Are you asking about the coolant level sensor? There are many alarms on the car so a bit more specificity would be helpful.
If it is the coolant level then there is no programming. There is a magnetic float switch plugged into the bottom of the coolant overflow tank and a float inside of the tank that triggers it. Sometimes the float itself gets stuck and just smacking the tank with the palm of your hand will free it up. If the float is free and the harness is plugged in then about all it can be is a bad switch. The switch just snaps into the bottom of the tank and it is very easy to change.

I think he´s rather asking about the antitheft alarm which might have a level sensor (that goes off if you try to push the car on a towtruck or lift it up into the air).

Is there a specific issue you are experiencing with it?
I had an issue for a time where I would unlock my 98 V70, and the "silent alarm" would go off, disabling the starter. Fault was traced to the lock button on a bad master window switch. Remedy (when silent alarm as active) was to unplug the lock button from the switch, close the door, and lock/unlock it with the key in the door. A fob would have worked I'm sure, but I don't have one.

Are you sure that you have that optional sensor?Racerxc70 wrote:Does anyone have any experience with this system, how it works, how to turn it on/off, how to program it, does it need to be programmed.

They seem pretty rare in the US.

Yes I have it, the car had every anti theft device available when I bought it in 1998, this one in particular needed to be disabled if it was traveling on a ferry or boat, (it never has) it's located in the trunk on the right side behind a panel,it's a white plastic box with some sort of liquid in it attached to a bracket there is no problem with it that I know of but somehow in the last 18 years the electrical connector was unplugged or never plugged in I just don't know,( maybe it was pissing off the mechanic during a service) I just found out last month while cleaning out the trunk, and before I reconnect it, I want to know more about it.
