Recurring 2-1-2 94 850

Post by skloon »

My 850 is throwing a 212 code indicating the front o2 sensor- this is a new sensor, I have checked all the vacuum lines which are also new, there is no elbow under the intake manifold but I do see reference that it can be caused by the fuel evap system- how do I check this ?

What brand is replacement sensor?
Are the numbers on it the same like from the old one?
Phase 1 850 up to '95 had two types of o2 sensors.Titania & Zirconia.Titania works on resistance and,the most usual one,Zirconia works on voltage difference and they are not interchangeable.

Which brand sensor? Are you sure you got the connector clipped together well?
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

No idea of the brand of sensor or number, to add to the difficulty I am running an RN swap with an ECU from a 95 manual turbo- the car runs fine just throws the code about every 50km

'95 should carry Motronic 4.3 and '94 should have Jetronic engine management.They are not interchangeable.
Hmmmm....i'm surprised the car even starts and run unless u.s cars had motronic management even in '94.

I have used my 94 ECU as well I get the 212 plus another one for the missing transmission- the 95 was a Canadian car and everything looked identical to my 94 except no EGR -which has been deleted and all the holes filled

I am getting the error from A2, the TCU has been removed as it has been manual swapped, I am using the 95 ECU as it was a manual turbo car- and was 4.3 as is mine I do have a 4.4 ECU from a manual but it was a lpt so I don't want to use that

Don't use 4.4 in a 4.3 car without some wiring modifications.

Negative. No wiring modification needed anymore.
