I want to replace the front motor mount. Which brand is recommended? I like a site called fcp euro that was recommended by this forum. They have a OEM one for around $110 and a Meyle brand for like $60. Ebay has some for around $35 with free shipping. I don't want garbage parts, but I want to know that If I'm paying more I'm actually getting something better for my money. Also, I'm not in favor of child labor/Walmart style business models and would pay a bit more on ethical grounds.
Any opinions about different brands/prices of motor mounts?
Thanks,
-Feld

What about the brands available at Rockauto? One brand stands out to me, DEA. I looked them up on Amazon and some of their mounts for other cars are very highly rated... (I know. I know. But still though!) The set of front and rear engine mounts for my S70 are $25 and $26 respectively... That kind of price is tempting if you ask me... Makes me want to splurge on the $37 Hutchinson transmission mount!!!

It is, and I paid for my mistake more than once.
URO radiator hoses (Replaced with silicone hose set, finally)

Raybestos spring seat, last less than a year (Replace with all metal camber plates and coilovers for the rest of the suspension)
MotoRad radiator cap, melted, lasted less than 2 months (Replace with Green cap)
URO coolant surge tank, it turn dull and not translucent anymore (Replaced with Volvo OEM)
No picture, but you get the idea

The chinese stuff is so bad. I bought a LED bike light for $5 on ebay and didn't get to the end of my street before it fell off the bike and stopped working. I just don't know how to tell between the mid-price range parts. Even worse, on FCP there is a hutchinson motor mount listed for like $60 and another for $100 which appear to be the same mount. Hard to just drop extra cash on the "best" parts even though I know the cheap cheap stuff is no good.

Wow... well said! And with the proof to back it up. Guess it's Meyle at the VERY least. Thanks for the reply, tryingbe. And thanks for saving us the headache of inferior parts.tryingbe wrote: It is, and I paid for my mistake more than once.

For motor mounts, absolutely go OEM. When I first got my V70 (and didn't know the perils of URO), I replaced my lower PS motor mount with a URO mount. It was great, I saved so much money! Then I had to replace it 3 months later when it failed. I replaced it with OEM almost a year ago, and have had no issues since.

If I have a question about a part I buy it from FCP. They actually honor their lifetime guarantee so It would be really bad business for them to knowing sell a part that is going to fail prematurely. So I tend to feel good about whatever I buy from them. I find their prices to be quite reasonable considering the lifetime warranty.
