Volvo 850 GLT na clutch options

My clutch has started slipping in my na 850 and was wondering if a t5 or t5r clutch will fit? My mechanic said he thinks the spindals are different sizes. I want to do a t5 swap when this na engine goes so it would be nice to have a t5 clutch already in there.

The splines are all the same. I just bought a standard Sachs kit when I changed mine but the surface area on the clutch disk was noticeably smaller on the replacement than it was on the original but it works just fine.

I just had to replace a clutch on a V70 non-turbo. I ordered a Sachs kit from FCP and the clutch that came in that kit was for a turbo model. I was able to see the old clutch that had come out of the car with the new kit and the parts for the non-turbo are definitely different fro the turbo kit. Could the turbo clutch have been used in the non-turbo? I don't know, but I'll be sending the turbo kit back and using a non-turbo kit instead. There are definite differences in the parts. The biggest thing I noticed (and I probably won't get the terminology correct) is that the clutch disk (friction surface bearing part) has four embedded springs on the non-turbo part that are missing from the turbo part.

So when people swap the na 5 speed transmissions into a t5 or swap the t5 into a na what clutch do they use?
Will a new na clutch be able to handle a turbo?

The clutches are interchangeable. When swapping the 5spd into a turbo people will use a turbo clutch.

Generally not recommended.
