'98 V70 -- Adhesive for door exterior trim

I had to replace a front fender recently. I need to swap the small piece of door trim right under the badge over from the old fender to the new one. Heat is supposed to soften the glue on the trim piece for removal. What is an appropriate adhesive for attaching it to the new fender?

3M has some great foam tape products
designed specifically for the job.

+1, 3M makes some great adhesive products. I just put a German license plate on my BMW, and I used 3M Extreme double sided mounting tape, and it's holding very well, even through the cold weather we've been having.
