Doesn't look too bad. Dash and airbags are available at junkyards. Get an insurance settlement and go parts shopping. . .

Hell -- I can probably outfit you with a steering wheel (no airbag).

Doesn't look that bad but the ***** actually drove all the way into the side of the car so the whole drivers side is damaged.

They are not allowed to sell airbags here. Too bad I guess I will keep the Golf afterall... Unless I find another manual. There only is 1 for sale but it's way over budget because it's a T5.

It's Good that you both are alright. Really a shame that happened after how much anticipation you had in getting the car and then tearing right into it with the exhaust and all your plans you have with the seats and other items. So am i understanding correctly that in Quebec once a car's srs deploys it can't be replaced and is totaled?
Always first off the line, while all the cool people are still staring at their phones.

It can be replaced but only by an authorized shop which will use only brand new airbags therefore the cost most of the time is more than what the car is worth so they total it.

U-pull yards are not allowed to sell airbags even if there may be some ways(not exactly legal) to get them out.

Erie VOVO is a long day drive from Montreal. Don't forget to top up your tank at 40 cents a liter on the way back up.
