94 850 last night the display said DISC there is no factory cd player

That showed up and disappeared,right?
It means disconnected.
Intermittent lost of communication with board computer.Nothing to worry about.

thanks, just recently found out it is somehow connected to the coolant level sensor for what I reason I know not

It's not connected to coolant level sensor,i allready explained what it is.

no earlier I had the wrong coolant level sensor and the trip computer didn't work at all

Bad switch.

Not neccesarily a bad switch, just dirty.
Turn back and forth a few times to wipe
the contacts and it should be fine.
'98 V70 R - Well Equipped for Life Up North... ;)
