04 c70 Ambient temp sensor

Since I bought car 10K miles ago, outside temp is off by 8 degF
Was almost going to order another, then realized I have sensor on drivers side, left near front of radiator, that makes temp gauge go to --- when removed.

The same exact sensor is on right side same place, cannot find any info about it.

I am thinking since I have heated seats and wipers on headlights, could that sensor turn on heated washer fluid like my 97 bmw?

cannot find in vida dice either, any help would be welcomed

I have not found the part number for the sensor on the RH side of the under air dam that pokes into the radiator air-stream, but believe they may be both the same.
