spoiler mounting
I recently had my r spoiler mailed to me from the cars previous owner... It's clips had rusted off and he removed it. I have found replacement clips at fcp Euro but wonder if it's worth the hassle. I have no problem simply using the double sided tape and some good layout to drill holes for sheet metal screws.I have done this with my last Volvo, swapping the 93 spoiler. Any thoughts from the experts

What clips?
There are two goofy, complicated mounting brackets. Is that what you're referring?
How could he even see them, they're hidden for all intents
Tape alone will not work and eventually it will fall off

Use the brackets. Punching screws through a roof never ends well.
Especially if you live someplace with a lot of road salt.

Yes, Pittsburgh gets bad salt damage. The thing is, my trunk lid already has holes in it from previous owner trying to reattach it. I am cleaning all mounting surfAces of old tape and using a rag with laquer thinner to clean for the new tape. Then I'm going to use some screws. I'm having the car painted professionally this summer, I will remove the spoiler for the body guys and order the brackets then. The car looks so much better with it anyway. Tired of the bare trunk lid!!
