Through this forum, I have read about the stop neutral feature in the '01 models and that it should be disabled.
My '03 xc70 is displaying the exact symptoms of the stop neutral software.
Does someone have any thoughts on what else could be going on?
Thanks!

Our 2002 XC70 started exhibiting no forward drive in D until throttle is feathered lightly then the gear seems to engage and car drives forward. On slight inclines car will roll back unless brake is pressed. On steep hills the 2 footed approach is better for ensuring no reverse rolling. It happens almost every time we drive it. Original transmission with 321K kilometres is fitted with a reworked valve body (DIY) and replaced 3rd gear band.

Are these symptoms what you're talking about lakemich55?

Can you describe stop neutral software please JRL?

To me the symptoms of stop neutral is that the car comes to a halt, then the forward drive seems to disengage and no forward force from driveline is felt. If you remove your foot from the brake pedal the car doesn't move forward, however upon a light amount of pressure on accelerator pedal 1st gear is felt engaging and forward motion is restored.

If there is another version of stop neutral I'd like to hear about it as I'm certain other forum members would also.
