USGO Intake Hose replacement

I have a 1997 850GLT that I need to replace the USGO Intake Hose on (broken nipples). I have the part BUT it seems impossible to get to the bottom (other engine parts in the way). Is there a detailed repair walk thru that shows me step by step with pics how to accomplish this task ? This part is about 1.5 " to 2" in diameter and has 2 smaller nipples at the top that attaches to the Turbo and 2 - 3 nipples (various sizes) at the bottom along with the intake at the bottom. I've never run into this problem on any Volvo I've owned before so I'm lost. Do I need to be able to lift the car off the ground to accomplish this ??

The big USGO Intake tube I am trying to replace looks like the one that is at the bottom pics in steve850's post.

For that snorkel intake hose, usually the lower clamp is accessible with a long socket extension, going straight down near the firewall. It takes a 7 mm socket. It is just a hose clamp but it can be buried and hard to get to. If the clamp is rotated into an inconvenient position then yes, you may need to go from underneath.

For what it's worth, on 2 of my P80's, original assembly from factory placed the 7mm screw for the bottom clamp facing "up" towards the hood right between the SAS valve and the wastegate actuator. Laying face down over the engine let my 6 foot frame reach it just about perfectly with 2 extensions from the driver's side. It's a perfect place to accumulate grime, so a good plastic/rubber -safe degreaser before starting in may make the layout a bit clearer.

+1 to dyn blin's post - I have always found them in that position. By long extension I mean like 3 feet. That's a good point to clean up the area, likely the clamp screw is right there and you can get to it from the top.

I removed mine last fall, had to take air filter box, fresh air snorkel, turbo control valve, an all that out. Be careful not to crack the crank vent hose (big one on top of the tree at the base of the intake hose), it's hard-plastic, wherease i think everything else connecting to the intake is rubber. I was fortunate enough that the 7mm hose clamp was facing upward.

It's a lot easier if you're laying on top of the motor. Make sure you've got like a yoga mat or some sort of pad.

I am curious, what do you mean by the "fresh air snorkel?" That's what I call the part in the picture up there, the very one OP is asking about.
