1998 Volvo V70 2.0T

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

1998 Volvo V70 2.0T

Post by LowBuckBuilder »

Hi MVS!

I just got my first Volvo, and somehow it seems mandatory to sign up for this wonderful site. I've been reading all kinds of posts on a vast number of subjects that seem relevant for my V70.

I live in Denmark (neighbour to Sweden), and got my hands on this '98 V70 2.0T which was imported from Italy in 2006-ish.
It's the N-blok L5 with what I assume is a 13G LPT. I have an eager to optimize the performance a bit, and have obviously read a great deal about it (on this site in particularly).
I'm currently in the proces of reaching Stage 0, and I'm very aware about how crucial this is.

Anyways, I just recently came to think of my engine setup (with the 2.0) and what opportunities I might have in order to optimize performance a bit. I'm specifically worries about the compression ratio and boost pressure - is my 2.0 capable of the same amount of boost as the other LPT's? I've installed a turbo gauge, and the stock boost level is 0.4 bar (approx. 7 psi I think).

I am very curious to hear your thougts on this ;)
Thanks!
