99 v70 hopping at stoplights

Post by whatgoeson »

hey there, last night i got this excellent new issue! when at stop lights my v70 started doing a kind of stammering/hop thing that could be felt throughout the vehicle, when i shifted to neutral this went away. Eventually it began blowing white smoke from under the hood, temperature gauge not hinting to anything out of the ordinary. She's been going thru coolant pretty quickly recently and when i got to an area i could park and open up the hood it seemed like there was quite a bit of fluid in left front quadrant of engine(viewed standing in front of car)

Not sure what to look into first..

The first thing to break on the cooling system is usually the plastic reservoir, check that for leaks.
If the car hot enough to run rough, that's not good and can be very expensive.

Be careful taking off the reservoir, you have to disconnect the coolant level sensor on the bottom after you lift it an inch or two or you will break the wires
