'95 850 - washed engine, lost a/c

Post by TheDrivenMan »

Hello Again,

I took the 850 to the car wash and sprayed everything with cleaner and then pressure washed underneath and in the engine compartment.

The a/c worked fine a few days before I pressure washed, but now the compressor does not engage. I'll check this evening to see if knocked any wire loose, but other than that any advice?

Thanks
Robert

I'm guessing the wire connector got disconnected from the compressor by the high pressure from the washer or else you might of blown a fuse

My amateur thoughts:

Perhaps a connector was knocked loose. Look at the compressor clutch connector to see if it is in place. You can raise hood and listen for it as it cycles. Look at any connectors you can see. I would not expect any refrigrent
lines to be loose.

Many postings and the dealer reccomend not washing the engine at car washes and only using spray and wipe type of cleaning due to the multiple sensors and electronics. I would like to wash with hi pressure but don't want to take the gamble. I hope you get the problem solved. Check your fuses just in case. This posting is not intended to rub it in.
