AOC/Haldex filter and other fluids in drivetrain

Just wondering if anyone has changed out the AOC/Haldex filter and replaced the fluid in the Haldex system and/or if you have done the other 3 transmission fluid changes (front angle gear, rear differential and main transmission) which all take different fluid. My S40 is an '07 T5 AWD with Manual Transmission so the main transmission fluid exchange may be different than mine if you have an auto tranny but the rest should be the same.

I ordered the fluid and filter for the AOC/Haldex system. After talking to my mechanic the manual transmission fluid and front & rear differential are not that big of a deal and at less than 80K miles he has never seen an issue with them but the AOC/Haldex system is another matter and why would Volvo put a filter there anyway if it didn't need servicing? FCPEuro price matched other competitors so it was a great deal...I highly recommend others with this system to do the same as I believe it's very good preventative maintenance on our AWD cars! My car is scheduled with my mechanic for next Tuesday!

Got the Haldex filter done today and fluid replacement. It probably didn't need it. Strange but the filter that came out of the housing was fairly clean. The fluid and filter was replaced anyway. It's possible the filter was done once before- the housing cover was the new type that has fins. Btw, only about half of the liter of fluid had to be used and this was with all of the old fluid pumped out. My mechanic said that when the filter came out a whole bunch of fluid poured out from the housing. I was a bit concerned that only half of the jug had to be used. Does anyone know how much the Haldex/AOC system holds?

Sounds correct.

I suction out the fluid but the filter removal also lets some other fluid out. The old fluid container was 300ml but the new container is a quart/litre.

It usually take a little more than half of that container even if you pull the filter and the pump.

What you explained is what I see each time I do a filter and fluid replacement.

I'm glad that someone has raised this thread. I recently purchased an '08 S40 T4 AWD and I've ordered many parts (fluids, filters, belts, plugs) from ipd.com.
I'm looking to change the Haldex/AOC, rear diff, and angle/bevel gear fluids.
But, I'm getting very conflicting reporting on where these drain/fill plugs are. On another forum, I've seen the Haldex/AOC drain/fill plug located immediately behind the AOC unit, but I've also seen pictures of the AOC and rear diff plugs right next to each other on the backside of the rear diff, immediate to the muffler. (And I'm really confused where the bevel/angle drain/fill plug is. I've read that it's right near and above the oil drain plug, but I haven't had a chance to get under my car and snoop around). Can someone please post a picture/pictures and/or description of where these drain/fill plugs are on my car? I believe they are different between the P1 and P2 models so I'm sort of stuck trying to look at various forums and figure out which bolts to turn... Thanks!
