Engine Vibration

Post by mnmk »

I have a 2004 V70. When I apply the brakes, and the vehicle is in drive, and not moving, I get a significant vibration throughout the passenger compartment.
I had both ball joints and control arms replaced and it occurred shortly thereafter.
Any thoughts or help on a possible diagnosis?
Thank you.

Engine/Transmission mounts. I had the same symptoms and replacing the lower mounts solved my problem. I had already replaced the upper mount.

Here is a quick way to narrow things down:

Open the hood and observe how the engine moves around when the transmission is placed from neutral to drive and neutral to reverse, with the brakes on and engine running

Not a bad idea to replace all at once, since others are likely worn.

I have a leaking inner cv axle on the driver side. I wonder if that is what is causing the vibration. Don't feel it much when I'm driving though.
Thanks for the reply's.
