I picked up an '05 XC70 that came with a few accessories, including these roof bars. The owners threw in a few extra Volvo bits, but were unsure of which vehicle they fit. These roof bars are fixed-length, via rivets, and are about 2-1/2" too long for the XC70. By measuring the roof bars, it looks like the inside-to-inside dimension on the rails would be about 44-3/8". Can anyone assist in ID'ing these, either from pics, or the dimension given? Thanks!

Those are load carriers for integrated rails... I think?

Those are roof bars that do not use the rails. When I get a chance I will take a picture of the rails for the roof rails you have on the XC70 (we have an 06) but the bars are off just now.
I think you may find there is a little pin on the upper face of the outer potion with the near 90 degree metal bend in your last picture (actually you can see it in the first picture). In the older cars there are small holes on the door openings along the top face for the pins to lock into. I haven't checked the newer ones to see if they are the same. So these may fit a P80 or a P2 or P1 possibly without rails. Give them a good check over, you may find a part number on them. Problem there may be even though you have a part number Volvo gives that to the rails but sells it as a kit with a different part number so we may still not be able to ID them. I will check the P80/850 set I have also to see what they look like compared to what you have there.
Neil.

I have a set of those bars- works well with 850's and S/V70 series up until year 2000 that don't have the euro-rails. I lost some of the center plastic pieces and used bolts, washers and nuts. That worked well for me! Here they are on my S70 with carrier from Sears when I went to Bonnaroo a few years ago.

Let me know if you want to sell them- I think they'll fit later model Volvos too that don't have the rail...you can check to see if there's a hold in your door sill where the pointed end of these fit in...front and rear door. If not, then I guess not. If they did, not sure if they will straddle your rails and still work or not- sort of doubting it.

Hi guys, thanks for the help ID'ing these bars. Yes, as Scott stated, these do have a little locating pin on the metal clamp part. MIJ, drop me a line if interested. Shipping from Canada can be expensive, but I'll be in Buffalo the first week of May, and could ship from there. They come with lockable ski-clamps with key.
EDIT: Just checked my '05, and there are no holes for the pins in the door frame of my '05 XC. I do recall seeing those in my '98 (sold last week), but I never considered what they might be used for!

I have a set but was thinking that if they fit my son's '07 S60, he would like to have them... no go if your V70 doesn't have the holes either. I think you could sell them quickly though. Many owners are looking for load bars!

Do me a favor though and see if you can see a part number on the round hole inserts. I bought some once blindly and they were too small so it would be great to replace the ones that are missing.

I took another look, and don't see any number on the metal brackets. On the underside of the plastic covers there's a part number '353-1329' and 'Max Load 100 kg'. Does that help at all?

Sorry for the delay getting back with pictures:
The first 2 are pictures of the load bars for our 2006 XC70. These are called 'wing profile' part # 31250201 and clamp more or less level with the installed roof bars.
Volvo also have another set that are wider and sit on the rails and are called square profile - part # 8633210
3rd set are the type that clamp directly to the door openings and have 2 versions up to chassis # - 268131 part # 9204962 after that chassis number it is part # 31213161. Don't know what the differences are on these 2 versions. These look more like what you are showing but from Vida I can't tell if they have the pin in them to lock into the door opening.
Then you can add the complexity of aluminum/grey finished versions of the first 2 also!
