1993 850 Sunroof Stuck Completely Open
My 1993 850 sunroof just got stuck completely open. The inner sliding shade is stuck open too. I hadn't used it in years and heard wind noise so I thought to open it and clean the rubber but then it got jammed open. Shouldn't the shade slide independently? Could it be holding the sunroof from moving? There are no sounds when I press the close switch and fuse 35 is OK.

This RobertDIY video is good for getting a sense of what's going on inside of the sunroof mechanism:
(sunroof info starts at 2:12 into the video)
I haven't had my sunroof apart before, but I hope this video helps a little bit. Good luck!

After lots of banging and pushing and pulling it started to move again and it closed tight. I'm going to tape something over the switch and never move it again if possible.

If it's on its own circuit, pull the fuse. There's nothing more tempting to some people than a switch marked 'do not touch'!
