1996 850R Question on Wire Function/Purpose

Hi,

While I was working underneath the passenger glove box, I noticed that something was unplugged but not sure what this relates to. If someone could let me know that would be great. I took a picture. I believe the tip is yellow and has a black and red wire.

There are lots of odd, extra connectors around on the 850 harness, waiting around for someone to plug in the right accessories.

A red and black wire probably means it's a simple power connector for something or other, possibly the map light accessory, or something. I'm having the glovebox out tomorrow on my 96 T5'p, and I'll check what, if anything, it's doing on mine. I'll let you know.

My guess is it's just hanging out here too... So to speak.

Hey!

Took a look. I've got that one as well - just hangin' out like it's nuthin'.

I've looked through the accessories catalogue for the 850s, and I still have a feeling it's something for the stuff in the "comfort" section - map light, in-glovebox accessories etc.

If you haven't seen the catalogue, btw, it's worth a peek. Lots of neat stuff - I especially like the handsfree phone setup...
